The cutting height can be adjusted by adding or removing spacers.

The hover mower comes with one spacer pre-fitted and can be set to 4 cutting heights between 12mm and 33mm.

Choose the appropriate cutting height according to the condition of your grass.

The clippings are returned to the lawn surface where the nutrients contained in them fertilise the soil. This means stronger, healthier grass with less need for supplemental fertiliser and has the added bonus of helping the lawn retain water in dry periods. It also means no grass clippings to dispose of or compost. Provided that the mower is used regularly the clippings are not visible to the eye.

An unbalanced blade will cause excessive vibration when the mower is running. Left unresolved, this vibration could eventually damage the mower's motor.

To check the blade balance:

1. Clamp a screwdriver horizontally in a vice. If you don't have a vice, use a straight nail instead.

2. Place the centre hole of blade over the screwdriver (or nail).

3. If blade is balanced, it will remain in a horizontal position. If either end of the blade drops downward, sharpen the heavy side until the blade is balanced. Or replace the blade.

4. Always check that the blade bolt is tight and re-tighten if it is loose.

The MEH1633M-01 mulching hover mower has a 10 meter power cable.

The motor protector has been activated.

Allow the motor to cool and increase the height of cut.

This can be caused by a build up of grass clipping on the underside of the hover mover deck, causing it to clog.

Check underneath the mower and scrape off the dried mulch with the plastic scraper supplied with the mower.

The MEH1633M-01 mulching hover mower has a belt drive system which links the blade to the motor.

This belt is designed to be sacrificial and may slip or break if the motor is put under heavy load (e.g. cutting very long grass on a low height of cut).

To avoid belt slippage and breakage, always cut long grass down in stages starting with a higher height of cut.

Grass over 10cm high should first be cut shorter with a grass trimmer.
