There are several types of lawn mowers available, each designed for different purposes and lawn sizes. Here are some common types:

Electric Lawn Mowers:

• - Corded Electric Mowers: These mowers are powered by electricity and need to be connected to a power outlet via a cable. Check the length of cable if your lawn is on the larger side.
• - Cordless Electric Mowers: These mowers are powered by rechargeable batteries, offering cable free mowing and greater flexibility compared to corded electric mowers. Look for models that come with larger batteries or multiple batteries if your lawn is on the larger side and that you can purchase replacement batteries for the future.

Ride-On Mowers: These are large lawn mowers where you sit on top, similar to a small tractor. They are ideal for very large lawns or commercial properties due to their ability to cover large areas quickly.

Robot Lawn Mowers: These are autonomous mowers that operate without human intervention. They use sensors, cameras or both to navigate around lawns and can be programmed to mow the lawn at set intervals. There are models suitable for all sized lawns - check the recommended cutting area that best matches your requirements. Robot mowers that navigate via a boundary wire are best for gardens that have more complex layouts and robot mowers that navigate via camera are best suited to lawns that have very distinctive borders and simple layouts.

Hover Mowers: These mowers use an impeller above the spinning blades to create a cushion of air, allowing the mower to hover over the lawn. They are suitable for uneven terrain, and are generally light and easy to manoeuvre.

Mulching Mowers: These mowers are equipped with blades that finely chop grass clippings and deposit them back onto the lawn as mulch. They help nourish the lawn by returning nutrients to the soil. Many electric, cordless, hover and all robotic mowers come with mulching plugs that allow you to choose whether to drop your grass clippings onto the lawn or to collect them in the grass bag/box.

Push Mowers: These are manual mowers that use a rotating blade mechanism powered by the user pushing the mower. They are eco-friendly and quiet but require more effort than powered mowers.

Petrol Lawn Mowers: These mowers are powered by petrol engines and are suitable for larger lawns. They come in various configurations, including push mowers, self-propelled mowers, and ride-on mowers. They do however require regular maintenance and professional servicing.

Each type of lawn mower has its advantages and disadvantages, and the choice depends on factors such as lawn size, terrain, budget, and personal preference.
